DHARMENDRA MARRIAGES AND AFFAIRS

                             DHARMENDRA

  • MARRIAGES

     WITH PRAKASH KAUR

Dharmendra, popularly known as the He-man of the film industry was born on 8th december,1935 in Punjab into an Arya Samaj Jatt family. Before arriving in the film industry,he was doing job in an American Drilling company.During these days,he got married with Prakash Kaur in 1954.At that time,he was only 19 years old. From Prakash Kaur,he has two sons,Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol who are reknowned actors and two daughters,Vijeta and Ajeeta. But after joining the film industry,he married once again with the actress Hema Malini and he maintained two relations at the same time because his first wife Prakash Kaur refused him to give divorce.

     WITH HEMA MALINI

The dream girl Hema Malini blessed with an eye pleasing supernormal beauty, born in a simple Iyengar family became the second legal wife of the handsome he-man Dharmendra on 2nd May,1980.They were said to have a long time affair which later on converted into marriage. The gossips of their affair started during the shooting of the blockbuster film 'Sholay'.In the beginning,Hema didn't pay any attention to Dharam but as Dharam was stubborn by his nature,he made every possible attempt to grasp a special place in her heart. For this,he paid Rs.20 each time to the light boys on the set of 'Sholay' who were actually asked to disturb the scene in which Dharam was teaching Hema how to try a revolver.By applying this trick,he hugged Hema so many times during that particular scene. In this way, they came closer to each other and finally decided to get married. She also received Proposals from actor Sanjeev and Jeetendra severally. But she refused to both of them. While Hema's parents got to know about her marriage with Dharmendra, they were strongly against it as he was already married. They were forcing Hema to marry with Jeetendra. At one stage,Hema almost made up her mind to marry with Jeetendra to make her parents happy but after all, true love showed its genuine colour and both Hema and Dharmendra got coloured with wedding shades. Before the wedding, both got converted in to Islam as his first wife was not giving him divorce.Their converted name was Delawar Khan and Aisha Bi R.Chakravarty respectively.Their marriage was announced a few weeks later after they tied the knot. From Hema,Dharam has two daughters, actress Esha Deol and Ahana Deol.During the wedding,Hema had also to face opposes from Dharam's sons Sunny and Bobby.

  •   AFFAIRS
        WITH MEENA KUMARI

Before falling in love with Hema ,Dharam was said to have madly in love with attractive and very talented actress Meena Kumari. It has been rumoured that Dharmendra's love for Meena was fake.Actually,he was only using Meena for making his career in film industry because at that time,Meena was much more established as an actress. And this rumour proved true when Dharamendra left Meena after getting huge sucess and money in films. Then Meena repented on her mistakes which she had done for Dharam.Actually, before the entrance of Dharam in her life she also fell in love with writer director Kamaal Amrohi and she married with him in 1952.They were leading a very happy life but Dharam came in between due to which Kamaal gave divorce to her in 1964.Now,she was a looser from both sides as she had been dumped by both men in her life. She could not tolerate this grief and got completely drowned in wine and alcohol. She became a heavy drinker during the later part of her life and due to excessive intake of liquor, her liver failed completely and she died on 31st March,1972 in a hospital in Mumbai at 40 years only.Very few people knows that Dharmendra was the actual reason for her death.

  4. If Dharmendra was involved in this type of affair and if this was not one sided from Meena Kumari, then Dharmendra is wrong..But Meena kumari is also wrong as she left her family & husband for other man...everyone should follow rules & regulation of soceity

If he married and turned to Islam and his first wife is not a Muslim than he is no more married to her cuz she is not a christain or a Jewish .so his first marriage null and void but though only in name of Islam he got married to hema , oh well they donot have any religion any way it doesn't matter to them god or no god.shame

  15. I really much like your articles, but this is just stupid. I mean how can you blame Dharmendra for Meena's death?! That's unfair and incomprehensible. For a love you need 2 people, so why has Meena left her family? Love stops one day and that's ok. Should he have stayed with Meena his whole life if he was unhappy? Just to get her saved from her own weakness he wasn't even knowing about? I'm sorry, I love both, but that's inacceptable.

  17. I respect Dharamji's courage and his honesty. I don't know him personally but by reading about him, I think he is a great man. Any man can have affair while having a wife at home but its very rare that he come out and marry the woman who he is having affair with.

Now we don’t know how his relationship was with his wife but if they were miserable then what is the point to stay together, better live with someone who makes you happy, who you love a lot, who you can’t live without. We only get life once so enjoy it.

  21. This is so stupid. Who is to know that meena kumari died because of dharmendra. He is a great actor and that's the persona that the public is used to. We don't know their personal lives and it has nothing to do with us anyway. Who are we to judge them? They might be super stars but at the end of the day, they are still human beings.

  22. Indian democratic rules need to be thanked for allowing such rediculus decisions to enjoy personal satisfaction by using constitutional features. Society must punish such people, but it is proved in this case that money is the remedy for all problems

  23. If you had a chance to use Meena Kumari, you would have done the same - for money, for fame, for her beauty. Put yourself in other person's shoes before accusing someone.

  24. 2 marraiges, 1 affair - not bad. Could have had more affairs.

  25. It seems easier to blame him because he's in the public eye...but people must never forget that there are things that are not known to public..i mean who can ever know if there was a lot of problems in his first marriage or who can ever know if his first wife is faultless? Who can ever know if he really loved meena kumari so much? If he did, why must he declare it to the public? Even if he openly says it, who would want to believe him?..after all, people always prefer to hear only bad things..and who would ever know how much problems he had with his marriage with hema malini? The POINT is - we should not judge because we don't know the truth..Why not just respect him and like him as an actor? Don't be so close-minded people..

  27. .

SUCH THINGS HAPPENS, WHEN TWO TRUE LOVERS FELL IN LOVE FOR EACH OTHER, CANNOT BLAME ONE PERSON ONLY.
PEOPLES WHO ARE BLAMEING ONE (DHARM JI), ACTUALLY THEY ARE ONLY JAELLOUS AND AS THEY MAY NEVER LOVE ANYONE IN THEIR LIFE OR NEVER FOUND ONETRUE LOVE .THEY ARE SELFISH TO LOVE THEMSELF ONLY.

  29. Meena Kumari was not divorced in 1964. She had separated from her husband Kamal Amrohi in that year, well before Dharmendra came into her life. So, while he was not the cause of her split with Amrohi, it was certainly true that he used her to gain momentum in his career. After splitting bitterly with Dhrmendra, Meena Kumari is rumoured to have had other affairs too in her fruitless quest for love and yes, had hit the bottle heavily. All in all, a very tragic life indeed it was for Meena Kumari, as people used her throughout and she remained lonely and deeply hurt till death.

  30. Kamal sahab ne meena kumari ko chhod diya thats man nature
Dharmendra apni pahli wife ko chhodne ke liye mentally prepare nhi honge tab tak
A woman can luv unconditionally to a married man
Bt A man cant luv a married woman unconditionally
